Catholic Bishop Calls On Believers To Promote Love At Christmas
The Catholic Bishop of Lafia Diocese, Most Reverend Dr. David Ajang has called on believers to promote love and joy especially in the Christmas season.
He made the call at the 2023 Carol of Nine Lessons organized by Radio Nigeria North Central Zone and Precious FM Lafia which held on Friday December 1 at the premises of Precios FM in Akurba along Shendam Road, Lafia.
The Catholic Bishop who was represented at the event by Reverend Fr. Christopher Goni, urged believers across the country to build lifestyles that are pleasing to God with every sense of humility and sincerity of hearts to attract blessings.
Also speaking, Pastor Monday Paku of Fresh Word Ministry Lafia implored believers to shun all acts that could hinder their profound encounter with God.
Pastor Paku further enjoined people to ensure they plan moderately for the celebration of Christmas by avoiding needless borrowing in the name of merry making.
On their parts, a former federal lawmaker, Senator Suleiman Adokwe and the Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia, Dr. Justina Anjiode-Kotso admonished the congregation to be their brother’s keeper by showing them unconditional love.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Madaki Member, who decried how the essence of Christmas Carol has been heavily commercialized and depicted with fun fares, relative absence of Jesus Christ, overspending and the focus on materialism, called for attitudinal change and spiritual rejuvenation.
The Zonal Director Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria FRCN, North Central Zone, Mallam Haruna Idris represented by the Deputy Director, Engineer Benjamin Akuki earlier called on Nigerians to collectively use the uniqueness of Christmas season to celebrate love, compassion and togetherness sincerely.
The 2023 Carol of Nine Lessons organized by Radio Nigeria North Central Zone and Precious FM Lafia had special musical renditions by different choir groups and renowned gospel artists.
