Breach Of COVID-19 Protocols: Nasarawa FA Sets Up Three-Man Committee To Investigate Karu And Keffi FA

The Nasarawa State Football Association has set up a Three-man Committee to investigate the hosting of a grassroots football tournament in Karu and Keffi Local Government Areas amidst the ban on football in the State.
The committee which was inaugurated by Haladu Akwashiki who is the Vice Chairman of the Nasarawa State FA, will investigate the grassroots tournaments said to be organized with the consent of the two Local Government FA’s despite the suspension of football related activities as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We found out that despite the restriction, a football competition took place both in Karu and Keffi Local Government Areas and some officials of the local FAs took part in it. So we have decided to set-up a committee to investigate them. ”
Terms of reference for the committee were listed out by the vice chairman which include, finding out the nature of the competition, who gave approval for the competition, finding out the numbers of affiliate clubs with the FAs, finding out officials that refereed the matches, know the number of teams that participated in the recently concluded competition, suggest and recommend disciplinary measures if need be, to be meted to the offenders.

The vice chairman charged them to carry out the task diligently and without fear or favour.
In response , the Chairman of the inaugurated committee, Ahmed Bello Mohammed, thanked the board of the State FA headed by Alh. Alkali Mohammed for finding them worthy for the assignment.
He promised that he and his team will work assiduously to deliver on the mandate given to them.
“I want to assure you and all football stakeholders in the State that we will do justice to the matter at hand and report accordingly.”
Other members of the Committee include Auwal Adamu(member) and Usman Ibrahim Oguns who will serve as the Secretary
The Committee is given one week, beginning from today (September 1, 2020), to submit its report.
In the meantime, Chairman of Nasarawa State Football Association who also doubles as Nationwide League Chairman, Alhaji Alkali Mohammed, has inaugurated a five-man Nasarawa State Football Committee to be headed by his Vice Chairman, Honourable Haladu Akwashiki.
According to the Chairman, the Committee is saddled with the responsibility of formulating templates for football activities in the State post COVID-19.
