APC Leader Congratulates Sacked SSG, Describes His Tenure As Successful
The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman North Central, Hon Ahmed Suleiman Wambai has congratulated Hon Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu who until Monday June 8, 2020, the Secretary to State Government (SSG) of Nasarawa State.
Recall that on Monday June 8, 2020, the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule relieved Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu of his position as the SSG.
In a Press Release signed and issued by Alhaji Hamza Gayam, Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration, stated that: “His Excellency the Governor of Nasarawa State Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule has approved the relieve (sic) of the appointment of Alhaji Aliyu Tijani Ahmed as the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State with effect from today Monday, the 8th of June, 2020.
“Accordingly, he is required to hand over all Government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary Cabinet Affairs and Special Services in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the State immediately.”
Alhaji Aliyu Tijani Ahmed has been walking on shaky grounds ever since the Nasarawa State House of Assembly set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate how N1 billion released in 2018 for the renovation/fencing of secondary schools in the State was spent.
Aliyu Tijani Ahmed was the Commissioner of Education at the time and the project was done under his supervision.
The House Committee led by Honourable Daniel Ogazi completed its investigation and had submitted its report on Monday June 1, 2020.
As a result, the House passed a resolution asking Governor Abdullahi Sule to sack the SSG.
It is however still unclear whether the sack of Alhaji Aliyu Tijani Ahmed by the Governor is a direct consequence of the House’s investigation and resolution.
While identifying with the embattled former SSG, the APC National Vice Chairman, North Central, Hon Ahmed Suleiman Wambai, on his Facebook page congratulated him saying: “Please kindly accept my modest congratulations for a successful rewarding tenure. Wishing you all the best of the best.”
