Alkali Applauds Nasarawa State Deaf Soccer Team

The Nasarawa State Football Association under the stewardship of Alhaji Mohammed Alkali has joined sports stakeholders in Nasarawa State to applaud the Deaf soccer team for reaching the finals of the maiden National Para-Sports Festival holding in Abuja.
Alhaji Mohammed Alkali who is also the Chairman of one of the biggest leagues in the world, the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) was full of praises to the Deaf Soccer team who against all odds made it to the finals of the soccer event.
The Nasarawa State Deaf team defeated their counterparts from Kano 3-1 via a penalty shootout after playing out 2-2 in normal regulation time.
The Nasarawa State Football head appreciated the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Engr Abdullahi Sule who has been supportive in making sure sport activities thrive in the State saying he believes the boys will not disappoint in the finals as expectations are to clinch the gold medal.
Alkali also showered encomiums on the coaches who took out time to bring these special athletes together as it is evident by the chemistry exhibited in the team.
He said: “It takes hardwork, sacrifice, special dedication and perseverance to get to this level and that is what the coaches epitomised.”
The mouth watering finals will see Nasarawa Deaf team square up against Abia Deaf team on Friday 15th April, 2022.
