Action Resumes as the NPFL Finally Returns

Nigerian apex club football has finally returned to the local football fans who have had to wait patiently for more than four months after a 2018/2019 abridged NPFL football season.
The league season got back on track at the various centers across the country with scintillating and surprising results.
Eight matches were played in all as against the scheduled ten matches as a result of Enyimba FC and Rangers’ continental engagements.
The Okigwe Township Stadium, the makeshift home of Heartland FC saw the only away victory in Matchday One as MFM defeated their host – who incidentally are under the guidance of their former coach Fidelis Ilechukwu – by an Ogwu Clement solitary strike.
There were three draws with Rivers United picking an point away to Kano Pillars while the other two Akwa Ibom teams Akwa United and Dakkada FC pulled Similar results against Delta state teams Delta Stars and Warri Wolves respectively.

Wikki Tourist were better with a slim margin against Jigawa Golden stars in Bauchi by two goals to one to round up Matchday One of the 2019/2020 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
