2nd Anniversary Celebration: Governor Sule Flags-off Construction Of Akwanga Neighborhood Market
As part of the celebration of the second anniversary of the Engineer Abdullahi Sule administration in Nasarawa State, the official flag-off of the construction of the Akwanga neighborhood market worth 349 million naira has taken place.

Governor Sule while performing the flag-off ceremony, said the project was in line with his administration’s resolve to provide infrastructural development for the good of the people. According to him, with the right infrastructure in place, businesses will flourish and the State will be the ultimate beneficiary.

He said when completed, the neighborhood market will consist of 52 locked shops, 54 open market stalls, 26 warehouses, an administrative block, toilet facilities, security post, parking lot and a restaurant among others.
He expressed hope that the provision of the neighborhood market will rid Akwanga of indiscriminate roadside trading that often constitutes nuisance in the town.
The Governor also flagged off the remodeling and upgrade of the Akwanga VIP government lodge.

Speaking at the event, the consultant for the project, Architect Shehu Tukur said apart from the remodeling and upgrade of the lodge, a 300 seating capacity event center as well as road networks will also be constructed.
Architect Tukur who is also handling the neighborhood market project assured that the contractors have been mobilised and are on track to complete the projects within the given time frame.

While the Akwanga neighborhood market is scheduled to be completed within 30 weeks, the remodeling and upgrade of the VIP government lodge is to be completed within 38 weeks.
