260 Participate In National Quranic Recitation Competition In Nasarawa

260 persons have gathered in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State for the State chapter of the National Quranic Recitation Competition.

The competition which is the 28th edition of the program in Nasarawa State is scheduled to hold from 23rd to 30th November 2024.

Speaking at the opening ceremony which held at the palace of the Aren Eggon in Nassarawa Eggon town, the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd), congratulated the participants and the judges for being privileged by God to be part of the activity for the year 2024.

He said: “Anyone that God has given the Quran has been greatly favored. God has given you everything already. And whoever has the Quran is far better than the person that does not have.”

He urged the judges to perform their duties to the best of their abilities and with all honesty and assured them of his continuous support.

In his welcome address, the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (Rtd) who was the host, expressed his deep gratitude to Allah (SWT) for giving him the privilege of hosting participants from all the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State.

He assured the participants that all the necessary arrangements have been made to ensure their stay is comfortable.

He appealed to well-to-do individuals in the society to generously donate to such noble ventures, especially for the monetized prizes so as to encourage and reward the participants for their dedication to memorizing and reciting the Quran.

The opening ceremony was witnessed by several eminent personalities from the Muslim community in Nasarawa State including traditional and religious leaders.

The best candidates from the competition will represent Nasarawa State at the national competition in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
