25 Youths Graduate From Empowerment Programme In Lafia, Urged To Become Wealth Creators
Beneficiaries of the Mulapnen Capacity Building Initiative (MUCABI), with support from the Centre for Community Action for Peace and Development (CCAPAD), have been advised to make the best use of the skills and starter packs provided to them to become wealth and job creators.

The Executive Director of MUCABI, Mr. Nicodemus Samson Beska, gave the charge during the graduation ceremony and presentation of starter packs to twenty-five beneficiaries of the Youth Empowerment for Social Inclusion (YESI) Project held in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Mr. Beska explained that the project seeks to empower young people, promote social inclusion, tackle unemployment and poverty, and foster sustainable economic growth and development in the State.

He commended the organization’s partners for their support and urged the beneficiaries, who received training in fisheries and Point of Sale (POS) operations, to leverage the skills and tools provided to establish viable businesses, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to the state’s economy.
In his remarks, the Officer-in-Charge of the Nasarawa State Custodian Centre, Chief Superintendent Bello Umar Faruq, underscored the importance of skills acquisition, stressing that “the future belongs to those who prepare for it.” He commended the donors for putting smiles on the faces of the participants.
Representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Mr. Albert Ehada; Jama’atul Nasir Islam (JNI), Aliyu Isa Shuaibu; and MTN Nigeria, Tasiu Yahaya Abubakar, all commended MUCABI and its partners for their commitment to youth empowerment. They urged the beneficiaries to utilize their new skills to uplift themselves, their families, and their communities.
Two beneficiaries, Blessing Adakole and Mohammed Liman, expressed their gratitude to MUCABI for what they described as a life-changing opportunity, noting that the training would enable them to become self-reliant and improve their socio-economic well-being.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of certificates, fisheries starter kits, and POS machines to the graduating participants.
