18 Development Areas Overseers Declare Support For Balarabe As Speaker Of The Seventh Nasarawa Assembly
The Forum of Overseers of Development Areas in Nasarawa State, have declared their support for Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi as the Speaker of the Seventh Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA).
Hon Mohammed Haruna, the Chairman of the Forum and Overseer of Lafia East Development Area stated this when he led other members on a solidarity visit to the Speaker in Lafia today (Monday June 26, 2023).
He said that the visit was to identify with and congratulate Rt. Hon. Balarabe Abdullahi on his victory as the Speaker of the Seventh Assembly in the State.
“We are here to identify with you and congratulate you on your victory as the Speaker of the Seventh Assembly.
“We are happy to have you as our Speaker again considering your track records of achievements as the Speaker of the 5th and 6th Assembly in the State.
“We are solidly behind you and we are 100 per cent by your side, ” he said.
The Forum’s Chairman assured the Speaker of their loyalty and support at all times.
He also used the opportunity to commend Gov. Abdullahi Sule for releasing funds for development projects at the Development Areas.
He however appealed to the Speaker to use his office to influence the allocation of more funds to the Development Areas to enable them execute more people-oriented projects.
Responding, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi appreciated the forum for the visit and assured them of his support at all times.
“I am honoured by your visit. I appreciate you all for identifying and standing behind me.
“I am indeed very grateful by this visit as this visit has further demonstrated our good work in the State,” he said.
The Speaker lauded Gov. Sule for sustaining peace in the State and his developmental initiatives which has improved on the standard of living of the people of the State.
“His Excellency, Gov.Abdullahi Sule is a person that have passion, love and care for the State.
“Nasarawa State is among the few States in the federation that is peaceful because of His Excellency’s leadership qualities,” he added.
The Speaker said some people in the State are fighting Gov. Sule on reasons bast known to them stressing that God is there.
“But our consolation is that majority of the people of the State are happy and are behind His Excellency.
“Gov. Sule believes in transparency and accountaility as this is a leader that does not want corruption.
The Speaker urged the Overseers to follow the path of Gov. Sule by ensuring transparency and accountaility in projects execution.
The Speaker assured the forum of his readiness to talk to the executive to release more funds for developmental projects at the development areas.
